In Vietnam, social organizations play an important role in promoting development and change. In particular, in the Central Highlands – Central Highlands, the rapid economic movement has created a great pressure on society. Therefore, the role of social organizations in this region is even more important, especially initiatives, ideas and participation in solving environmental problems.
However, social organizations (CSOs) operating in this field (including GreenViet) are also facing difficulties depending on funding sources from abroad (more than 70%). Meanwhile, this source is decreasing because Vietnam is no longer a poor country. Moreover, the ongoing Covid pandemic makes it even more difficult to get financial support from many foreign organizations and foreign funds. Therefore, it is necessary to find ways to have different financial sources so that social organizations can continue to exist.
Therefore, the project is designed to create a financial source (the Fund) that is mobilized mainly from businesses and local communities. This will help better financial support for CSOs; At the same time, it brings a new fundraising model when using the internal resources available in the country to carry out the mission of CSOs. The project will also train to improve many other skills for CSOs to operate more effectively. As a result, Environmental issues will continue to be solved.
In addition, this is also an opportunity to promote CSR/CSV activities of businesses, and connect businesses with environmental social organizations so that the relationship between the two sides will be better improved.
