On the evening of August 12nd, in Hoa Bac commune (Hoa Vang district, Da Nang), the Green Viet Biodiversity Conservation Center (GreenViet) coordinated with the Gustav-Stresemann Institute (GSI, Germany) to organize “The Co Tu conserve forest” concert with the aim of funderaising.
At the concert, the UpRace Community Running Project has committed to accompany the fundraising program to plant 60,000 large trees in Hoa Bac; Dang Gia Trang Production, Trade and Service Company has sponsored 40 tons of fertilizer (for about 5 hectares of Hoa Bac forest) and 100 trees from the Da Nang CEO Club. In particular, the sponsors participating at the event contributed more than 120 trees to Hoa Bac forest (1 tree ~ 49,000 VND).
This is the kick-off activity for the “Bring the forest back to life” program with the goal of raising funds to support the Co Tu community in Hoa Bac commune, planting 60,000 large timber trees instead of growing acacia (equivalent to 50 hectares of forest). native plants).
After the concert, the UpRace 2023 community running tournament initiated by VNG will be deployed to continue raising funds, expected in October 2023. Accordingly, each runner’s km will be recorded on the UpRace application, which is considered the basis for VNG and other sponsoring businesses to commit to donating at least 1,000 VND.
The fundraising campaign aims to reach 3 billion VND to support the Co Tu in greening 50 hectares of Hoa Bac forest. It is expected that from November 2023-2024, the Conservation Fund Project is going to help people plant trees.
