On 22nd July 2023, the Trade Union of the Urban Area Development and Management Center of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the GreenViet to hold the ” Planting Day” event at the Research Institutes campus (Science Park), belonging to the urban area of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
At Science Park – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, more than 100 people including students, volunteers, and members of sponsoring units planted 640 trees (Tamarind, Christmas tree, etc.). Thereby, bringing a green as well as environmentally friendly Science Park to lecturers and students of Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam National University HCM city . At the same time, join hands to implement the program “One Million Trees in Cities” in the period 2020 – 2030.
To date, the program has mobilized the cooperation of the business community, planting more than 36,000 trees in urban areas such as Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh city. Therefore, tree planting activities are aimed at increasing the density of trees, minimizing the risk of air pollution and raising awareness of the young generation about the importance of planting trees and protecting the environment.
Tree planting activities are carried out through the project ““Establishing a funding foundation for biodiversity protection and environmental sustainability in Danang City, Vietnam” (in short, the “Conservation Fund” project) supported by corporate entities. Specifically:
– The KPMG Company Limited sponsored 400 trees;
– 240 trees sponsored by the Hikvision Singapore Pte Ltd Representative Office in Hanoi, Electrolux Vietnam Co., Ltd. Branch in Ho Chi Minh City, and Anne Hill International School;
– The Dang Gia Trang Co., Ltd. sponsored 5 tons of vermicompost.
